The mission statement defines the core of our current practice at Integrated Martial Arts. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters the ongoing growth and evolution of our students. We believe that martial arts practice should not be a static, unchanging construct, but should instead be a growing, living thing. It should change, and it should help the people who practice it grow and change as well. For us, training is about the journey. It’s about getting better.

Why “true martial artists”? Because we believe that a person can acquire great martial skill without necessarily being a martial artist in the philosophical sense. Technical mastery without proper mindset fails under pressure. Technical mastery without moral character creates predators. Everyone who train at Integrated Martial Arts strives to embody and uphold these ideals.

Our training is meant to be a living, growing thing. The goal is simple: by constantly improving our training, we constantly improve ourselves. By constantly improving ourselves, we build a community that makes the world a better place.

The best in the world, in every field, do the same thing. There is no “best”, no point we are trying to reach where we can say “okay, we’re there now.” The joy in training is in the journey, not the destination.
